Drawing is a visual art that makes use of any number of drawing instruments to mark a two-dimensional medium. Common instruments include graphite pencils, pen and ink, inked brushes, wax color pencils, crayons, charcoals, chalk, pastels, markers, stylus, or various metals like silverpoint. An artist who practices or works in drawing may be referred to as a draftsman or draughtsman. A small amount of material is released onto the two dimensional medium which leaves a visible markāthe process is similar to that of painting. The most common support for drawing is paper, although other materials such as cardboard, plastic, leather, canvas and board, may be used. Temporary drawings may be made on a blackboard or whiteboard, or indeed almost anything. The medium has also become popular as a means of public expression via graffiti art, because of the easy availability of permanent markers. From Wikipedia under the

I find it really difficult finding out what to draw and how to draw it. When I'm usually home, I like to draw celebrities and things straight out from movies or magazines. I've looked at previous students art portfolios and they're so creative and artisitic. I don't know how to be creative. I'm just so use to drawing what I see in movies or magazines that I dont have any creative ideas of my own to draw. Also sometimes I don't know how to expand my ideas into drawing. Q. How do I begin cartooning, and what are the types of steps I could follow for the basics in drawing cartoon animals? I am interested in drawing, but need help on where to start. Asked by Thaeli - Wed Aug 9 12:19:52 2006 - - 6 Answers - 1 Comments A. Before you can begin cartooning you need to be able to draw realistic things -then distort them to be drawn easier or faster. You also should watch alot of cartoons and look at alot of comic books and "study" the art form. Hayao miyazaki's works, Disney, Tex Avery, Bob Clampett, old cartoons are the best, you can watch alot of them on youtube.com . for drawing animals there are lots of books you can buy or get from the library. this web site has a lot of links and things about cartoon and animation that should help. Also looking at photographs of animals as a reference . For the lion king the studio brought in lions for animators to study from. You can go to your local zoo too. -good luck Answered by K - Wed Aug 9 18:49:42 2006 Is drawing an inborn or can it be learn?
Q. I am currently 17 or so, and I want to learn how to draw really bad. Whenever I try, I am horrible and not so good at it but what are your opinions. Is drawing a talent? Or could I learn how to draw a decent figure? My cousin is really good and I mean superb when it comes to memory drawing and I will ask her how to teach me how to draw but I am a little bit doubting about myself... I just want to learn how to draw because that way, I could draw my imagination which with all proudness, is vast! Asked by sadloner07 - Sat Jul 26 09:45:00 2008 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments A. It's both. The spatio-perceptual part has an innate limitation, but one has to learn how to transcribe what they perceive through the the medium/media of their choice. One can improve their perceptiveness to a certain extent, like one can build their muscles to a certain extent. And just as some have maxed out muscles without hardly trying, some are strongly perceptive without really trying. Your ability to bring this to your medium will never exceed your degree of perception of your subject. Without some degree of training, it won't even approach it. On the up side, even if both of these traits don't rise to professional levels, this hobby remains quite enjoyable. (Face-blindness has set a kind of limit for me; my work is never… [cont.] Answered by Studio 126 - Sat Jul 26 17:52:13 2008 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Drawing" See also:
