How can I find a family in Hof, Germany?
Q. I spent some time in the military overseas in Germany from 1988-1992 and spent Christmas one year with a German family in Hof through a program for single soldiers to visit with locals for a few days during the holidays. I do not know the name of the couple I stayed with, only the names of their 2 daughters who were around my age. I have about 10-12 photos I took during the time and would love to correspond with them and share the photos too. Can someone help me? I believe the daughter's names were Ute and Urike Dahmer. Or maybe there is a place to post a photo of who I am looking for.

A. Falk Joerg u. Dahmer Ute Am Eisenberg 17 36341 Lauterbach / Wallenrod 06638 91 87 29 That is the only listing for Ute Dahmer in Germany. There is no listing for "Urike", but that doesn't surprise me because that name just doesn't sound right. I also tried Ulrike but that didn't work either. This may or may not be who you are looking for. The address is located just north west of Frankfurt, so if you were stationed in Frankfurt, Giessen, or Fulda it could be who you are looking for. Oh, and just for information purposes. The listing in the phone book tells me that she is living with a guy named Joerg. She could be married and kept her name which isn't too uncommon in Germany, but uncommon enough that I would lean more towards… [cont.]

A. he was probably very very overwhelmed. think about. if you were president. you had all these obligations to do. and then suddenly you hear "uh... sir, 2 planes just hit the world trade center." how would you feel??? i think what he did was TOTALLY understandable. plus, he doesn't want to jump out of his seat and say "the US is under attack!" and scare a bajillion people. he's supposed to stay calm and not go bazonkers.

Is there any truth about gas prices in this letter to the editor?
Q. Wednesday, 19 March 2008 It's up to us to cut gas prices Print E-mail Dave Op't Hof The price of gasoline has hit a new high, as I'm sure you are well aware. We all lament the high cost of fuel and the repercussions it has in our economy. High fuel prices drive up the cost of everything from groceries to cars, because everything we buy is shipped in vehicles that burn some form of oil, be it gasoline or diesel. As our economy slides towards recession, the last thing we need is for prices to go up. This will result in what economists call "stagflation", a situation in which prices are going up while jobs and wages are being lost. The rising cost of fuel is primarily a matter of supply and demand. With the economies of Asia growing… [cont.]

A. You make the mistake of thinking that Oil is the cause of so many problems in the world. The cause of the world's problems lie in its inhabitants lacking a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
