According to the Book of Mormon The Book of Mormon is a sacred text of the Latter Day Saint movement. It was first published in March 1830 by Joseph Smith, Jr. as The Book of Mormon: An Account Written by the Hand of Mormon upon Plates Taken from the Plates of Nephi. According to Smith's account, and written in the book itself, it was originally written in otherwise unknown, Lehi was a prophet who lived in Jerusalem during the reign of king Zedekiah (approximately 600 BC)[1]. While occupying no official position of religious authority, his works—which were mainly concerned with finding archaeological, linguistic, and historical evidence that the (primarily scriptural) claims of Joseph has suggested that he was a merchant and contemporary of the Seven Wise Men of Greece[2]. The modern day city of Lehi, Utah Lehi is a city in Utah County, Utah, United States. It is named after Lehi, a prophet in the Book of Mormon. The population was 19,028 at the 2000 census, while a 2008 estimate placed the population at 46,802. The center of population of Utah is located in Lehi is named after Lehi.
