what is a good online company for printing/enlarging digital photos?
Q. I have a lot of beautiful scenic and architecture photos i have taken at 6 megapixels while traveling. I'd like to get them enlarged to around 12" x 15" and get them framed so i can adorn my house walls with them. I think it would make a neat personal gallery. Can someone recommend a good online company that does this?

A. Let me add to the list of people recommending Mpix. Go to and browse the site and see what they offer. David makes an excellent point about framing expense. If you want to "adorn the walls," you can end up breaking the bank with custom framing. I found, though, that you can learn to cut mats yourself and save a lot of money. I just did a show where I used a lot of 8x12 and 10x15 prints and put them into stock frames. The 8x12's fit into 11x14 frames and the 10x15's fit into 16x20 frames. These frames came with mats cut to fit much smaller prints so you could autograph the borders. I think the 11x14 had a 5x7 opening and the 16x20 had an 8x10 opening. I just recut the mats to the sizes I needed. These are not great photos,… [cont.]

Where can I find an image uploading community?
Q. What I'm talking about is a community where people upload their own images and have their own personal gallery, so people can comment, favorite, and add other users to their favorite list. For an example. Flicker, a site like that but is aimed more on photos than anything else. Deviantart, same thing, but more focused on artists than anything else. For me, I upload all types of pictures, like screenshots of games I created, screenshots of the games I play, diagrams, art, and sometimes photos. I hope this is an understandable question.

Q. i need help with this question which was asked my art teacher for an art gallery review.. i have no idea what it means. am i supposed to give my personal interpreation of the painting i chose? and if yes then how does a personal interpretation work? and if im supposed to explain what a personal interpretation means, WHAT does it mean?

A. Personal interpretation simply means your opinion. This link should help you with what to say: The good news is that anything you say is fine because it is all about your feelings & interpretation of the piece.

A. The cheapest way to start something is own strong desire and to put before what else is to come as supporting to fulfill and make a success. If confident people's thinking may change over a period of time and this small business we are doing for our own benefit and not a charity.Thirdly you have a good and sound background of own dad to support then why to keep hidden fear? Leave behind all rubbish things and be positive to launch and fix a date of its opening on dad's birthday and advertise a big in news paper to know by mass in society. Success comes to those who dare and act. Good luck and wishing Almighty to shower on you his Blessings for towering success in years to come ahead in your new esteemed life.

A. Install fireworks which should be in the same CD with dreamweaver Do this Optimizing and Exporting The ultimate goal in web graphic design is to create great-looking images that download as fast as possible. To do that, you must select a file format with the best compression for your image while maintaining as much quality as possible. This balancing act is optimization--finding the right mix of color, compression, and quality. Exporting graphics from Macromedia Fireworks 8 is a two-step process: First, you prepare a document or individual sliced graphics for export by selecting optimization settings and comparing previews to determine an acceptable balance between quality and file size. Second, you export (or in some cases, save) the… [cont.]

But this is your personal website, get things that you would use or update.

What do you think of my personal statement??? I want to do primary education next year?
Q. I am currently writing a personal statement because i want to do a primary education course at university last year, i was just wondering what you thought of this??? i preferably want teachers opinions if there are any on here thanks x My interest in Primary Education came when I took part in 2 weeks worth of work experience at my local primary education working with the age group 5-11. During this period I did paired reading and participated in an Art class, I found it interesting to see what goes on in a Class room and felt it would be something I'd like to do. At school I have always had an interest in Art and English and feel they would be very relevant to the course. Besides my academic interests I think I have the personal… [cont.]

A. I can see you've got the bug. You have to be a bit savvy to what you want to do though and I would think secondary schooling is more your interest. I say this because I had a similar experience where I was attracted to teaching through helping primary school children with their reading. During my studies I became interested in all the Educational stuff to do with how children learn. When I got to the schools though it was more management of 20 or so children that was the major focus. This is where everything gets mechanical and you suddenly have a curriculum you have to teach. You quickly find that the stuff you love to teach gets chopped up into the smallest parts. Secondary teaching allows you to teach the subjects you love at the… [cont.]

I personally think that they don't show enough aboriginal art in galleries. 4. I don't think that it really matters. I just think that they should have a bit more than they do now. 5. Agree 6. I think that they get paid less, but I don't know how much less. 7. Yes, I think that they should definitely be paid the same, because it's just not fair if they get less. I am glad to help out :)

Is a degree in History of Art cool or lame?
Q. I got a degree in History of Art, and had a great time finding out about, errr, art and stuff. I've got a decent job in IT now, and the only use I've found for it is showing off if I go round a stately home or art gallery. As much as I enjoyed it, it's a bit embarrassing to tell people and has become a bit of a personal joke. So is it lame or cool?
Asked by pobotrol - Thu Jul 5 15:30:43 2007 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments

A. In my opinion it is not lame - but I have to question why you'd major in something you feel is lame? Or at age 22+ (I assume since you state you have a degree) do you really still depend on the masses to dictate to you what is cool and what is not? If you wanted to be in IT why didn't you major in computer science? Art History degree = not lame. This question = makes no sense and totally lame.

How do I find an "art agent" to represent me?
Q. My work in bronze is done in a very unique way. I would like to find an agent or gallery to represent and promote my work. www.ghbronze.com This would not be limited to Canada but the US as well as Europe. I ship my work and produce new work on a monthly basis and have sold my work independently as well as through galleries. These are life-size pieces that can be exhibited inside or outside as well as made personal for private commissions. Thanks for your suggestions Gabrielle
Asked by GabiFH - Mon May 14 13:30:02 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I know that here in the US most artists that are just starting out and trying to establish their work will go to one or two galleries to represent them and help get their name out there. If you dont have any galleries near you...you might need to try going to a bigger city and try there. Ask the galleries you contact if they deal in sculpture as well as paintings. Make sure they are willing to promote your work not only IN gallery but online and possibly in print as well. The larger galleries will do all three.

Creating a personal business website.?
Q. I want to create a website for a small online business selling commissioned artwork. I'm thinking of spending about 25 max per year for the website. It will need to have the following: E-mail account specific to the website e.g: artist@commissioned-artwo rk.co.uk with at least 10mb file-size attachment limit. At least 10 pages in the site: eg home, about, contact, feedback, galleries (for full size scans of artwork a4 sized, ideally about 1000pixels x 900pixels per image, opened by clicking on thumbnails), details & pricing, with an auto e-mail form that people could fill in with their details. A. As A small business owner myself I assume you want a professional website with the look to give your business the best exposure to maximise your sales. If so then you will not get what you want for the money you want to spend. Yeh sure you can avail of the offers listed in your other answers but they are cheapy sites with loads of unrelated advertising which subsidises the price they charge you but your prospective customers cannot get a clear picture of your products. If you are serious about your business you are looking at around 1000 upwards per year but you will reap the dividends in the long run. Think carefully.
