A. What were the major milestones in your life and why were they major to you? Who are some of the people that you knew only briefly that had a substantial influence on your life and how did they influence you? Do you think that people are inclined to wage wars, and why? Have you ever not voted in an election and do you feel guilty about not participating in that election? Why did you not vote? How did you meet your wives/wife? Who was your first girlfriend or boyfriend? How old were you? What is your most treasured memory and why is it that memory? What were your biggest personal battles and how did you confront them? What type of information is in a "buyer biography" for submitting an offer to purchase a home?
Q. I am reading that when a buyer is interested in a foreclosed property, they should be smart with the offer they submit, and send along a buyer biography. I know what a biography is, but what type of information should be in this biography, how long should it be, and should it be in third person or more auto-biographical? Or, am I just getting this whole idea wrong? Thanks

A. Generally you would start at the start, so something like "I was born at 10.27am on a bleak Friday morning in the year of your lord 1990. I don't actually remember being born, and I'm reliably informed not many people do, but my father remembers it very well. In fact when he's had a few drinks he does a very good impersonation of my mother on the delivery bed. It must have been very painful for her, it's certainly painful for him when he replays it. My mom has a sharp tongue and a sharper shoe". And on you go from there... Good luck.

A. When you really want to know something, ya gotta leg it to the library. Not only do they have books, which tend to be more accurate and go into more detail than blogs, wiki, et cetera, you can still access the internet to find something specific right there in the library.

A. Depending on how long it is and what you want to do there are several. allows you to turn your work into a file, but it would need to be a few thousand words to fill a small book. They can also release it through Kindle Amazon and get you an ISBN. Amazon also have their own publishing service which can be useful. If it's article length then is free and allows you to upload articles for syndication, but you don't make any money from it - its just publicity. takes shorter articles, and pays you per view.

What is a quick biography book read for a US History class?
Q. One of the grades for my semester involves me reading a biography of a prominent and historical figure in the United States and doing a report. Can you guys recommend a quick read of a historical figure that won't take too much time? College course. Added: I originally posted this on the Books section, but got no results, so, any help? Well, it could just be a historical figure rather than be a prominent figure. I need a specific book recommendation if you guys have any. Thanks.

A. You could go on Barnes and Noble, or any book store website and search there under (Biography), and start your searching there, they have these reference books called: Spark Notes, I believe they have them for History, not sure if they have them for historical figures, but you can check. It would probably be better if you go to the bookstores though, or a library. The Spark Notes, has summaries, symnosis, and all that to help you write a nice report. Like I said though, not sure if they have it on prominent figures.

A. Hi! The first duty is to find a theme. Write down a list of words or phrases that describe your life and see what sort of titles you can create from them. Once you have a decided theme, then you can write it. It should be an active piece with suspense, even it if is biography. There should be mini-conflicts as well as a main conflict (just like a novel will contain both subplots and a primary plotline). I'll post some links below. They go to fiction-oriented sites, but you can really branch out from those. In truth, much of fiction and non-fiction follow the same directions.

What questions should I ask in interview for doing a biography?
Q. I have to do a biography on someone but first I have to interview them. What are some good questions to ask?
Asked by - Tue Jan 11 15:21:44 2011 - Media & Journalism - 1 Answers - Comments

A. Start with asking them to tell you about their life. From that information ask for more details on the parts you found interesting. Make notes as they are talking. I find it interesting to ask what do they wish they had done in their life that they regret not doing. People usually regret what they did not do more than what they did do.

Q. I have never done it before. I have written plenty of fiction stories, but I'm clueless how to begin a biography. Any good tips? Thank you to all who help! I would be writing someone else's biography. I don't know how long it would be. Maybe a book though.
Asked by Fitzdarcy - Wed Aug 25 20:26:04 2010 - Books & Authors - 3 Answers - Comments

A. Do you mean an autobiography? Try reading a few. I have read a number in recent months and find that they are fairly similarly structured. Something really interesting to get the reader started, then usually back to childhood, and on from there. I'm hoping to write one myself one of these days and plan to start by writing little stories first, little biographies of important people in my life, then looking at how I can put them all together into a cohesive whole. Or not.

A. The oldest member of your family, by the mere pass of time, would be the most interesting to hear of, especially if they had an unusual chapter in their life, say an unusual part in the war, or even missed it for some stupid or embarrassing reason, or if they have drunk, smoked, lived fast etc. and still lived to a really old age, try to work out how. Also I have always thought a good accompaniment to any serial, would be to have an Auto/Biography of the main character, doesn't really matter which, but self written, would really lift a character, so why not pic your favourite character and write for them, it may become interesting to research all works on them, to piece together their life, as depicted in literary form
