From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. The term brush refers to devices with bristles, wire or other filaments, used for cleaning, grooming hair, make up, painting, surface finishing and for many other purposes. Configurations include twisted-in wire (e.g. bottle brushes), cylinders and disks (with bristles spread in one face or radially). A common way of setting the bristle in the brush is the staple or anchor set brush, in which the filament is forced with a staple by the middle into a hole with a special driver and held there by the pressure against all of the walls of the hole and the portions of the staple nailed to the bottom of the hole. The staple can be replaced with a kind of anchor, which is a piece of rectangular profile wire that is anchored to the wall of the hole, like in most toothbrushes. Another way to attach the bristles to the surface can be found in the fused brush, in which instead of being inserted into a hole, a plastic fiber is welded to another plastic surface, giving the option to use different diameters of bristles in the same brush Brushes for cleaningBrushes used for cleaning come in various sizes. They vary in size from a that of a toothbrush, to the standard household version accompanied by a dustpan, to 36" deck brushes. There are brushes for cleaning tiny cracks and crevices and brushes for cleaning enormous warehouse floors. Brushes perform a multitude of cleaning tasks. For example, brushes lightly dust the tiniest figurine, they help scrub stains out of clothing and shoes, they remove grime from tires, and they remove the dirt and debris found on floors with the help of a dust pan. Many kinds of specialty brushes are used for cleaning vegetables, cleaning the toilet, washing glass, finishing tiles, and sanding doors. From Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License How can I brush my cat without getting scratched? Q. My little boy is a huge fluff ball. He is just all fur and is looking so rugged lol. The problem is he absolutely hates the brush. I have tried being so gentle and using a soothing voice and petting him at the same time. I got scratched I let him inspect the brush and see that it isn't scary and he tries to eat it. I have tried different brushes even. He just hates it and refuses to let me brush him. He will purr as I brush him lol and I know it must feel nice for him but he still wants to kill the brush. Maybe he is just too playful. Maybe he just feels the brush is his nemisis. I dont know lol But it is to the point where he has to be brushed. Any advice or tips? How can I do it without getting my arm scratched all up really? lol … [cont.] Asked by Raven . - Thu Feb 8 14:44:28 2007 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments A. Ah a longhaired tabby, and he doesn't look that happy to have his picture taken. I suggest you take a sponge and dampen it and go along his coat and it will remove some of the loose hairs. It will also keep the static electricty from shocking him. After you have gone over his coat and gotten some of the loose from him try a big toothed comb instead of the brush. Make sure you don't pull as that is when he will turn and give you those love bites and scratches. Work a small area at a time and quit.. then go back and do more later. If he plays hard beforehand he may be more willing to allow you to work on him. Maybe you could let him play with some catnip first and wait until he gets into a calm mood before you start. I've tried getting her to do it herself, but all she does is lick off the training toothpaste. Any attempt I make to brush is met by clamped jaws, a turned head and a full-blown fit. I've tried using a colorful character electric toothbrush. Anyone else had this problem and solved it? Asked by Tracey - Wed Apr 1 18:08:37 2009 - - 9 Answers - 0 Comments A. I know where you're coming from. My son never wanted me to brush his teeth until a year ago, and it was a power struggle every time. He's now 4 and a half already, and it's been working great with our new method: We have a whole collection of different toothbrushes and toothpaste tubes (Wall-E, Sponge Bob, Diego, Thomas the Train...), on the bathroom sink, and depending on his mood, he picks a different toothbrush and a different toothpaste every time, and the fact that he can choose gives him the impression that he's controlling the situation. So instead of saying "Come on! Let's brush your teeth now.", I ask him what toothbrush and what toothpaste he wants to use to brush his teeth, and he's happy to have a chance to decide, although I am… [cont.] Answered by Breizhgirl - Wed Apr 1 18:43:25 2009 How can I keep the toothpaste on my electric brush while brushing?
Q. Whenever I brush with my electric (motorized) brush, one of those oral-b ones, the toothpaste flies off due to the rapid movement of the brush head and lands in the bottom of my mouth. This has been happening for quite some time, but i only fully realized it until maybe a year or two ago. It is likely that my brushing becomes much less effective. What can I do to prevent or lessen the problem? Asked by imputh - Wed Aug 27 12:31:04 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. I just put the toothbrush on my tooth surface before I turn it on.
