Where is the fuel pump reset button located on a 1994 Ford Thunderbird?
Q. I have a '94 Ford Thunderbird and key remote seems to set off the alarm occasionally and the car won't start. It was suggested that I press the fuel reset button which should be located in the trunk on the left side. I notice an apparatus there but there does not appear to be a (red) button to depress. Is there a reset button on this type of car?
Asked by aprilreign - Thu Jan 3 10:02:56 2008 - Maintenance & Repairs - 3 Answers - Comments
A. The fuel cut-off switch is an inertia switch. The only way it would need to be reset is if the car was hit hard enough to trip it. Your problem would more than likely be with your anti-theft system.

How can I temporarily fix the button on my jeans?
Q. The button just completely popped off my jeans, and I need a quick way to keep my jeans buttoned until I have time to get the real button fixed. Any suggestions?

A. Cut a hair elestic and wrap it through the loop. Tie it in a knot on the inside of your jeans, Otherwise, a belt will hide the missing button, and will hopefully stop your trews from falling down !

What would cause a belly button to go from an innie to an outtie?

How to make a button with multiple lines of text in Visual Studio?
Q. I'm trying to create a clickable area that has multiple lines of text. A button would be perfect, but apparently the button only displays the first line of its Text field. Are there any other options? I tried putting labels on top of the button, but when you click a label the button is not pressed. I tried to put the button on top of the labels and make it transparent, but the labels don't show through. This is for a smart device application (windows mobile 6).

A. If a web app, use a link with a in it and change the style of the link to suit your design. You can also use a read-only multi-line textbox and again change the style to suit your needs, and adding a on Click event handler.

How do you sew a button back on a couch?
Q. I've got this modern looking 9ft. couch. My fiancee and I joke that it has "death buttons" because we easily get snagged on the buttons. One came loose and I'm not sure how to resew it since the button has the stich hidden under the fabric. Any ideas? Thanks so much in advance for your answers! I forgot to mention that the buttons extend the entire length of the couch and there's at least 36 of them on the base cushion! All great ideas though, thanks so much!

A. Oh, I know that one, my puppies decided to pull all the buttons off the new couch. The upholsterer told me to remove the back material of the couch and retie all of the buttons-because if one is loose the rest will follow. So ..remove the back from the bottom up,you don't need to remove the entire back leave the top edge alone, then it will be easier to tack back down once you're done.Take the button from the front and place the shank through the small hole where it was. Use a sturdy piece of twine in a large needle and sew through the shank--make a loop and then pull tight and knot it three of four times. While the back is off make sure all the buttons are tight-you might want to tie each one to make sure it doesn't happen again. Time to… [cont.]

What color button up shirt would go good with a green tie?
Q. I already have my suit (dark black) picked out, but I don't know what color button up shirt would go better with a green shiny tie. We are having a huge holiday party at our Pain Management Clinic. Hundreds of people will be there.
Asked by wsibo123 - Fri Nov 16 19:44:56 2007 - Fashion & Accessories - 11 Answers - Comments
A. well, it depends on whether you want to dress more youthfully or conservatively (well, as conservative as you can make it with a shiny green tie). if you want to go conservative, i say a shirt in light neutral colors/white, such as a very pale tan, cream, etc. the fabric should be either sateen-ish (sorry, couldn't find a better word x D) striped is good, also. if you want to dress a little more younger, you can wear a salmon color, or maybe even pink, depending on how "young" you want to look. also, go with matte-looking silk.

How do you feel about the belly button piercing on the bottom instead of the top?
Q. Okay. I was just at the piercing place to see if I could get my belly button pierced. Since I have an outtie belly button, the piercing guy said that I could not get it the top of my belly button because the piercing would be too close to the edge. So I was wondering if I should get the bottom of my belly button pierced. I mean, I think it looks good but what do you think?

How do button up shirts shrink in the dryer?
Q. I have a button up shirt that is 100% cotton and I know that it will shrink in the dryer if I use the regular heat setting. I need some answers from people who have dried their shirts before - do they tend to shrink vertically or horizontally? The shirt fits almost perfectly except it's a little long, so I'm hoping that it shrinks vertically. Any tips/suggestions/advice?
Asked by Chris Mattson - Wed Aug 11 20:20:06 2010 - Cleaning & Laundry - 3 Answers - Comments
A. Shirts usually do not shrink enough to fit any differently at all. They only shrink enough to make the collar turn up a little and to make the shirt lay a little differently. If you want to avoid this, hang the shirts to air dry. And the only way to shrink the length of your shirt is to hem it. If you don't sew, most dry cleaners do alterations, and hemming is a very simple alteration. I doubt it would cost much. -

How do I create a button on an Excel spreadsheet that will start & run a macro?
Q. I would like to place a button in an Excel spreadsheet that will run a macro. I already know how to create a macro, and I intend to use the same workbook over & over each month. I also need to know more about storing macro's in the worksheet. This macro will go to a specific directory, open a specific file, manipulate, copy & paste that file into this spreadsheet, update the pivot table and populate other sheets throughout the entire workbook. I would like to place buttons on all the worksheets that contain data, around 12 sheets. These sheets then populate 3 reports that are due the first week of the month.

A. From the Forms toolbar select the button tool and place it where you want it on your spreadsheet. Then you can define the properties of that assign a macro to run when you click the button.

What is the best way to create button in flash that changes its colour after being clicked on ?
Q. Suppose I create a button in Scene 1. Say of Blue colour. I click on it to go to Scene 2, while doing so it becomes red. Now when I return back to Scene 1 I want the button to be red and not blue. Basically I want to change the colour of the visited buttons. Like it happens on the Web browser. I'm using Flash CS4.

A. Step 1: Create an Empty Movie Clip Step 2: Create 2 Keyframes inside Empty Movie Clip Step 3: Create blue button on 1st Frame and red button on 2nd frame. Step 4: Now right click on each frame and goto action panel and write stop(); on each frame. Step 5: Now back to the main timeline and drag the Empty Movie Clip from the library which we have made for buttons. Step 5: Now Select the Movie Clip and goto action panel and write this script. var flag = 0; this.on Release = function() { if ( flag == 0 ){ flag = 1; this.goto And Stop(2); } } Note: This is Actionscript version 2.0, This script may not working with version 3.0

How does push button start work without the smart key fob?
Q. How does push button start work if you dont have that "Smart Key" Fob? I figured that having a push button is only sensible if you have that fob that senses when you are near the car, but I see some cars with push button start that dont come with the key fob. How would you use the push button then? insert the key...then push the button? how redundant is that?
Asked by CRAzYAPPLE - Tue Jul 15 22:17:21 2008 - BMW - 1 Answers - Comments
A. You put the key fob in it's slot, and then push the button. It may seem redundant, but the button starts a sequence controlled by the computer. With a key, you could hold it and keep running the starter after ignition. With the button, the computer runs the starter only as long as it is needed, it doesn't matter how long you hold the button, the computer takes over. Also, less wear and tear. The fob has no mechanical action and all you are doing is pushing a button, rather than turning an ignition cylinder with contacts.
