What are some beautiful places to visit in North Carolina?
Q. Me and my friend are big fans of Nicolas Sparks (author of Notebook, etc.) and the way he describes North Carolina is absolutely flawless! Were going to take a visit soon because we've never been and we were curious of some cool beaches or areas we should visit.

A. Wilmington is nice because of the battleship North Carolina. That's cool to visit. The part you're talking about is more of the old south kind of areas and parts of Wilmington are like that, but everything has been modernized since then. There's also Topsail Island which is full of rental houses and beaches.

What college in North Carolina is good for a psychology degree?
Q. What are some colleges in North Carolina that have good programs in psychology? Also is it possible to major in psychology and theater? What schools have programs for both? Any help would be majorly appreciated!
Asked by Cricket63 - Wed Jan 19 12:50:03 2011 - Higher Education (University +) - 1 Answers - Comments
A. Look into the public state universities first they will give you the best education for your money especially since you will have to go to graduate school if you get a degree in psychology (you will need a masters in order to practice unless you become a school psychologist). Most schools have good psychology programs because it is one of the most popular majors here in America. Large state universities also often have good theater programs too. I have included some links to schools that might interest you. I hope this helps good luck with finding a good school!

What is the closest city to a North Carolina OR South Carolina beach?
Q. Looking to relocate to North Carolina, specifically Charlotte, but before buying a house there, I'd like to know if there is a closer city to a beach.
Asked by strange_grl - Mon Jun 16 13:04:37 2008 - Other - United States - 3 Answers - Comments
A. We just relocated to Charlotte area from Boston. I would say your best bet for a city by the beach is Charleston, SC. It's supposed to be beautiful there. Charlotte is about a 3-3.5 hour drive from Myrtle Beach, SC, which is also nice but you would probably be hard-pressed to find work there as it's more of a tourist area. Charlotte is cool though, there's lots of stuff to do but the closest thing you have to water is Lake Norman, which is nice but it's hardly a substitute for a beautiful beach. There are small beaches along the lake however. Good luck :)

Is North Carolina or Texas a good place to live for Hispanic people?
Q. I am now finishing my bachelors degree here in Miami, FL but I want to leave the state with my wife (she is Hispanic also) to go to Raleigh, North Carolina or Dallas/ Austin, Texas. I have heard many stories of how up north there is a lot of hate/racism towards Hispanic people. Does anyone know if these are good/safe places for Hispanic couple like me and my wife?

A. Raleigh and Austin are similar, diverse medium sized cities with a lot of colleges in the area, but I personally prefer Raleigh. It's a very nice city and most people are friendly there. There are more Hispanic people in Austin and in most areas of Texas compared to NC so if you would rather live in an area with more Hispanic people, then I would suggest Austin but I think you would enjoy Raleigh as well and there is also a large Hispanic population in Raleigh, but I honestly don't think it should be an issue. I ve never encountered any racism or issues of intolerance in Raleigh, most people in the triangle area seem accepting of all types of people as there is a lot of diversity as a result of all the local colleges (NC state, UNC and… [cont.]

A. You need to earn a Bachelor's degree before going to medical school. If you feel qualified, you can apply for dual degree programs (BA/MD or BS/MD). If not or you don't get in, you can get a Bachelor's degree from anywhere then apply to a medical school in North Carolina.
