I have always loved Chinese takeout, but I know that alot of it has been created to appeal to Westerners. How different is it from the food that Chinese people make for themselves? I think I will try an authentic Chinese restaurant! I live in Philadelphia, and we have a fairly large Chinatown. Asked by fabolusus - Mon Mar 24 21:38:53 2008 - Ethnic Cuisine - 11 Answers - Comments A. Go to a real Chinese restaurant in your city where real Chinese people are eating... the difference is incredible. I LOVE real Chinese food - especially all their delicious steamed buns, dumplings, all kinds of leafy greens, tofu, different kinds of fungus and mushrooms and fermented and pickled wonderful things. What they do with soy and wheat protein to create mock meat (for vegetarians and Buddhists) is amazing - you wouldn't know half of the time that you were not eating real chicken, pork or fish. That kind of food is so good for you and interesting. If you see this Buddhist food on the menu, you have got to try it. Cheers :) They may eat some different parts of animals that you wouldn't normally eat, but it's no weirder than the tripe… [cont.] Answered by ms schlonky - Tue Mar 25 06:07:55 2008 How did the Chinese read to learn?
Q. Here are some of my questions about Chinese language 1- With all those letters in an alphabet, how can you learn to read and write? 2- Are there principles between letters that make them easier to learn? 3- Do you have to know all of those alphabets to be able to write all words in Chinese? 4- Did the traditional Chinese letters have any effect on the education and literacy of Chinese people? Asked by - Fri Jul 8 00:23:13 2011 - Languages - 2 Answers - Comments A. 1. There is no alphabet. Each individual character already has a meaning and there characters are compounded to form words and sentences. 2. Each character has a radical and this helps us form associations between characters. e.g. The radical " San " usually has associations with water, so most characters with this radical has something to do with water. The other part of the character (non-radical) helps us know how to pronounce the word. e.g. Lian and Lian are pronounced "lian" but with different intonations. 3. Like I mentioned in 1, there isn't an alphabet. No one can write all the characters, but you don't need to know all of them to be fluent. 4. I did not learn traditional Chinese in school (though I self-learnt… [cont.] Answered by Unknown Darkness - Fri Jul 8 01:05:27 2011 From Yahoo Answer Search: "chinese" |
