What is the Christian approach to dealing with regrets about my past life?
Q. I am not talking about guilt over sins committed or not having been a Christian in the past. Just the kinds of regrets most people have about how they might have lived their life differently and had a better life, accomplished more, done things better, etc. How can I use my Christian faith to work on this issue? I welcome responses from any kind of Christians: Mormons, Catholics, Born Again, etc. Thank you. Thank you.

A. We're forgiven... Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Born again, non-denominational Christian.

Is exposure to Christian dogma itself a form of suffering to be endured by Christians?
Q. I just asked about why chairs in Christian churches are so uncomfortable and most answers seemed to suggest they have been designed this way to make people sit up and pay attention to the dogma being provided by the church leader and not fall asleep. This sounds plausible and even Christians themselves answered this way, but of course, this means that the dogma itself is boring and sleep inducing, right? So if it s boring and sleep inducing then exposure to it is a form of suffering right? Christian dogma is something that Christians force themselves to endure like the dentists drill?

Christian and non-christian prayers or sayings for anxiety and overcoming what others think?
Q. I have a hard time constantly worrying about what others think or whether they're happy with me or not. Are there any prayers or sayings (Christian and non-christian) to help with that?

A. Christian and non-christian prayers or sayings for anxiety and overcoming what others think? There are no specific words you have to use when talking to the Lord. Just ask Jesus for His help on this problem in your own words. Furthermore, it helps to ask Him to make Him your Lord and Savior, as well. This will ensure your prayer's success and provide you with a ton of other blessings, as well. If you are interested in accepting the Lord, I would recommend reading this... As for other ways of making your self feel more confident around others: Well, I would not recommend Eastern mysticism techniques such as Yoga or Tai Chi. These methods may give you temporary relaxation you might crave, but these methods are not approved of by God and His… [cont.]

Why does the week on the Christian calendar start on Sunday?
Q. According the Christian religion, God rested on the seventh day. Presumably, that seventh day was Sunday because Christians celebrate the Sabbath on Sunday. Why, then, does the week on the calendar created by the Christians start on Sunday, making Saturday the seventh day?
Asked by growing backwards - Tue Aug 4 18:42:59 2009 - Religion & Spirituality - 32 Answers - Comments

A. What a great observation!!! However, the calendar has ALWAYS started with Sunday as the first day of the week. Though, they have tried to change the display order of the days of the week on European calendars. Your assertion that "presumably, that seventh day was Sunday" is incorrect. The seventh day has ALWAYS been what we call Saturday. Most of Christendom have their day of worship on Sunday because of tradition, not because of Biblical teaching. However, there are some Christians that still observe the Bible Sabbath from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday. For example, the Seventh-Day Adventists. Sunday observance happened as Constantine tried to unite his empire which consisted of Christians and Pagans. The Pagans worshiped… [cont.]

How should a Christian view other religions ?
Q. I have seen many books in Christian bookstores condemning other religions as cults/demonic. How should Christians view temples, mosques etc - as being inhabited by Satan and devils that draws people away from their only true god (Jesus) ? Or should Christians view other religions as equally helpful to people with different faiths ?

A. A: Love them and be salt and light to them as the Spirit of God gives ability and words. While Christians cannot endorse or recommend any religious community or institution that does not recognize Jesus Christ as both Lord and Savior... as far as we may the Bible also teaches us to live peaceably with all men. Romans 12:18 - If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. Whenever I have nagging questions like these I goto FIJC Ministries website and online chat. Q. I had depression and now I just want to become a christian again. I felt so much happier when I was a christian. I feel like I turned my back and that. Please help?

A. satan causes depression, but the world gives you drugs not Jesus for it. Do this and all will be OK. Know this about prayer, it is a three step process. God likes the number three. 1. We pray or ask God for help/something. In Jesus' name. 2. God prepares us to handle this so once we get it we will not fail with it. So God teaches us how to handle what we ask for. God is good, so he prepares us and then gives it. How great is that? 3. God gives us what we asked for. Many ask and while #2 is happening they give up. So they do not get to #3. So try praying again, now that you know how it works. And the more you ask for, the longer it usually takes to prepare you for it. Only God can reveal the meaning of his word, the bible. So if we want to… [cont.]

You don't have to be a Christian to be a Good Person, but it sure helps.

Is the charity that Christian missionaries do negated by their proselytizing?
Q. Do good deeds get canceled out by bad deeds? Because that s what is going on here; Christians go to impoverished people and they feed them; this is a good deed. But then the Christians trick these people into abandoning their traditional beliefs in favor of Christian myths, even though the traditional beliefs are just as plausible and just as likely to be the truth as Christian myths; this is a bad deed. Does one bad deed negate one good deed and mean that nothing has been achieved?
Asked by Desiree - Wed Aug 26 20:53:45 2009 - Religion & Spirituality - 10 Answers - 1 Comments

A. Only those charities that are done unselfishly and preferably anonymously to get nothing in return no fame, no favor, no conversion are truly altruistic. You will find Christian missionaries are bribing people for conversion in impoverished remote areas, where they can safely carry out their selfish missions away from the mass non-Christian populations of the comprising countries. I've witnessed such devious way of proselytizing by Christian missionaries. It's a blatant hypocrisy.

A. This is what the angels said to the apostles when Jesus ascended into heaven: "After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. "Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven." Then they returned to Jerusalem from the hill called the Mount of Olives, a Sabbath day's walk from the city." Acts 1:9-12 I believe the angels were right, and it shall be exactly as they said. Asked by hvacrjohn - Tue Sep 15 18:10:47 2009 - Religion & Spirituality - 7 Answers - Comments

A. Well, there's the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God. They say donations are voluntary, but in the past they have taken part in all kinds of strange stuff, like charging money for "miracles"... Apart from that no christian church asks for money in exchange for salvation. If you want an example of a non-christian religion, you always have scientology. In that religion, the only way to learn more and come closer in their path to enlightement is to pay for their courses, which become increasingly costly as you get higher in "knowledge".

Do Christian parents coerce or manipulate their children into Christianity?
Q. Christians make out that they merely introduce their children to Christian myths about Jesus, the god of the bible and Christian dogma about heaven, hell and eternal souls, but this is just more Christian spin, right? They don t offer their children a choice, do they? Or maybe they do but they offer it in such a way to guarantee their child s choice to become a Christian, by saying, You can choose to reject Jesus if you like, but you ll be tortured in hell for eternity, is this how they do it?

A. There is no way to know for sure. 88% of True Love Waits signers "do it anyway". I used to go to conservative churches and I don't think you should worry about sexual abstinence. I learned later in life that church leaders actually crack jokes about real-life 30 and 40 year-old virgins, so I stopped worrying about it. Now I send my Christian friends to the site below which covers the pro-premarital sex stuff in the bible that your church will never tell you about.

How could a Christian justify the Bible saying that the earth is flat?
Q. I'm a fairly new Christian, but I've never considered this before: The Bible does not specifically claim that the earth is flat but it is strongly hinted in several places. It is also rarely hinted at that the earth is round, or a sphere, etc. So if the Bible is God's word, how could a Christian justify the Bible's claims of our earth being flat, when God created earth? Surely God should know that the earth is round, and so this should be said in the Bible?

A. The Bible states that the earth is spherical, but the word spherical doesn't exist in the ancient Hebrew language that the Old Testament was written in, so spherical is described using terminology that could only have been revealed by God at that time. I should start by pointing out that in Isaiah 40:22, the Hebrew word for circle is chug , and its Strong's translation may be circle: H2329 khv g chug khoog From H2328; a circle: - circle, circuit, compassive Likewise, the Hebrew word used in Isaiah 22:18 may mean circle, the english translators just chose to use ball, here is Strong's definition of the ambigous Hebrew word used: H1754 d v r dur dure From H1752; a circle, ball or pile: - ball, turn, round about. Why do Christian males have a reputation of being selfish lovers?
Q. Christian males have a reputation of not caring whether their partner is sexually satisfied. It seems that Christian males typically care only about their own satisfaction; they tend to be 'wham-bam-thank-you-mam' type lovers, and then they roll over and go to sleep. Do you find this is true in your experience and why do you think Christian males take no pleasure in the giving of pleasure?

For a Christian do good works come from God working through us or from ourselves?
Q. Can a Christian really do good works (Gods standard of good works) without the Holy Spirit willing and working through them? So, is a Christian really working out from there salvation (which God is doing through them), not working for?

A. 1 Corinthians 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. In this next passage Paul is telling Christians to take their salvation seriously because God is at work in their lives. He isn't saying that they can add to their salvation with their good works. Philippians 2:12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
