After school arts, activity and drama clubs: What type of club would your kids like to join?
Q. What activities and events would children between the ages of 1-11 like? What type of club would they like to join? Drama, arts etc? How much do you think is a reasonable price to pay for such a club for perhaps 2 hrs at the weekend or in the evening. As a parent what would you like to see in a childrens club and what would you be looking for in deciding if your child(ren) will attend? In a nutshell describe your perfect kids club. Thanks, F.

What are some good inatations for a club?
Q. I have a club called the Purple Chain club with my friend. We have good inatations which are things you have to do to join the club. But we could use better ones. You have to do them at school so I need a scary dare that people won't get in trouble for. Also I need club ideas. If you have any ideas please answer.

A. Be careful with any initiations you choose. Many can be considered hazing and you could be sued if something goes wrong. Even something that seems fun and safe and go wrong if just one person loses control.

I want to start a club for middle school and high school students?
Q. I am a college student that has an idea for a club that I would like to start in middle school and high schools. Kind of like Key Club, or Anchor Club. How would I go about this? Do I speak to the school board administration, or the school I would like to start it in? Or is there another way?
Asked by - Mon Jan 31 08:42:53 2011 - Teaching - 2 Answers - Comments
A. talk to administration about it, then you have to find a sponsor for the club, and the sponsor needs to be a teacher.

What can a school photo club do to look good on college applications?
Q. I'm president of photo club and there aren't many people at my school interested in joining the club because it doesnt look good on college applications since we just enter contests and have photoshoots and stuff. any ideas? would donating to foundations be good? if so which ones?

A. Do something that ties in with the curriculum or major you want to pursue in college. If you want to major in Political Science, get pictures of political events, candidates, elected officials, and put them together in a presentation that shows the issues of your community. If someone wants to study engineering, do a series of photos that illustrates the principles of engineering - maybe the 7 basic machines (Lever, inclined plane, screw, etc) and donate them to engineering classes in your school and others. Each person can pick the topic or place to present (assuming the people in charge of that place approve, of course) Each can plan and execute the photo shoots. Others can assist you in return for your help when it's their turn.

Arsenal now a selling club, How long before it loses its great footballing reputation and sinks?
Q. Arsene Wenger has said Arsenal need to sell every year and buy less expensive players to replace them in order to pay the club's PS24m-a-year bill for the Emirates Stadium in the media today. Selling clubs are not known for doing well, Now is the time for the top 4 to be reshaped, do you think arsenal have got 1 more season of top 4 football or is it over for arsenal now with them having to sell a top player every season.
Asked by INDI - Sun Jul 6 05:53:00 2008 - Men's Premiere Leagues (UK) - 15 Answers - Comments
A. you guys underestimate arsenal, its not that they are struggling for cash, its that they have a spending policy, if they were ever in the situation where they thought that their place in the top 4 would be in danger they would easily buy some players without even thinking, they can spend if they feel to but atm their priority is to get rid of the debt, but again of they really needed to spend big, i dont think theyd have any problem doing so.

What is the easiest way to square club face at impact?
Q. Hello world! So I am a 16.2 handicapper. Inside 100 yards, I am ok. Chipping and putting are pretty easy for me. Problem: I cannot seem to square club face at impact. How do you do that? My swing speed is not fast either. It is about 75 miles per hour. Since the ball does not fly straight, it really affects my greens in regulation. In a round, I would probably hit 2 greens in regulation. Any help/tips/suggestions are appreciated. Thank you. Here are some possibilities: 1. My swing is too hand-sy. 2. Inproper timing. 3. Club face open at impact. 4. Club face closed at impact.

A. The last guy almost got it right but not sure what he was thinking about at the end... There are a couple ways to square the club up (body release vs. hands) but for a beginner you need to learn the feeling of your hands releasing the club at impact. This will not only have the effect of squaring the club, but add a few mph to your swing speed as well. Think of your swing as a semi-circle or outer half of a wheel. As the club approaches the ball from the inside (riding the rim of the wheel), feel the back of your left hand squaring up so that at impact the logo on your glove is at least facing the target. It continues to rotate so that just after impact the logo now faces the ground. If you're right handed, imagine flinging a frisbee… [cont.]

How do I bring more business to a private members club?
Q. I am to take over a private members club at the weekend. Now this is a Polish Club, but not many Polish people come in, which is a shame as we have a large population of Polish migrants in the area. The club has been losing customers for a while now and its finances are not good. I need to help turn the place around and make it as busy as it was a few years ago. A few details about the place. It is right nextdoor to the towns Train station, it has a large function room two bars, a very good pool table, cheap drinks!! Have you ever ran a social club and helped boost custom? Any idea's on how to bring the punters in? Baring in mind its a private members club so we can not advertise. I also do Disco's on the side so have all the music gear to… [cont.]

A. First off, are you Polish? It would help if you came from their own community. If you are not, you need to make friends with some of them - slowly but sincerely. If you try to get buddy buddy just to woo them they will see right through it. Show a real interest in their culture - in their turf. Go to their functions, etc. just to get known. Then slowly start bringing the place up in conversation. YES, the fundraiser idea is good. Be prepared however to ensure you are truly adding value in the effort to raise the money, sincerity is key. Also, please talk to the old members and ask why they left. Perhaps there was a reason for it that you can fix. I.e a bad employee, bad food, etc. Before you ask us why they left, go right to them!!!

How do i start an engineering club in my school?
Q. I want to start a chemical engineering club in my school. Do you think there is some type of online program that I could get that teaches the basics of engineering (chemical preferably). Or some kind of book i can get that is fitting for high school seniors? The problem isn't getting the club started ( i know who to talk to); the problem is what are we going to do in the club? Any ideas? Thanks!

A. Arrange field trips. Get members involved in student contests. Your school may require your club to do a day of community service. Arrange for guess speakers. If a national chapter of your club is nearby, attend their meetings. Produce newsletters. Raise funds. Hold parties or picnics.

How do you start a club at Scripps Ranch High?
Q. I want to start a crafting club, but I do not know what is required to start one and whether or not it will take a long time. I already have people who would be interested in joining, as well as possible meeting hosts/locations. I also forgot to ask the ASB last school year about opening clubs. There is no information on the SRHS website either. I know the process is different for each school, so I was wondering if anybody knew specifically about how to create on at Scripps Ranch High.

Q. My friend and I are thinking of making a new club (yet to be named) at our high school. It will be a religious discussions club, and we were trying to think of ways to make our club thoughtful and fun, while being a little serious (because religion is a serious topic)-- butnot too serious to cause serious, serious debates among the members. However, we could not think of any good ideas, so I was wondering if any of you had creative, thought-provoking activities we could do in our club. What should we do during the club (what activities, how should we organize what we do each week, etc.)? help please.

A. I personally find debates fun and that's what I would expect out of a religion club (I'm an atheist). A good idea for less serious yet more thought provoking debating is to pick an issue and have people choose sides, then each side has to defend the opposite position that they chose, obviously at next week's meeting to have time to prepare. Those kinds of things can be very interesting and force people to think about other points of view. You could do a whole variety of topics with that idea and possibly get some interesting results. You could potentially get members or maybe teachers who would be interested to do short lectures on a religious topic that interests them which could spark discussion (virgin birth, original sin, magnets if… [cont.]

Is being in a club underage more dangerous then drinking on a park bench ?
Q. Me and my friends are arguing. Some of them say clubs are more safe although illegal is more safe as you're with your friends there is camera's although drinking underage on a park bench is also illegal but you could get raped/ killed when going for a pee in the bush or fall in a river. In a club yeah you can get spiked but i think it's more safe. Both are as illegal as each other and probably as dangerous but anyone think ones more dangerous ?
