Rural areas (referred to as "the countryside") are large and isolated areas of a country, often with low population density.

About 91 percent of the rural population now earn salaried incomes, often in urban areas. The 10 percent who still produce resources generate 20 percent of the world’s coal, copper, and oil; 10 percent of its wheat, 20 percent of its meat, and 50 percent of its corn. The efficiency of these farms is due in large part to the commercialization of the farming industry, and not single family operations.

what is the effectiveness of the wildlife and countryside act 1981?
Q. how has passing this law helped the wildlife and countryside and why do we need it?

A. The passing of this law helped wildlife in a variety of ways, not least with regard to Planning Laws. When someone asks for planning permission to build, say, a large supermarket or school or manufacturing plant, then the local planning department have to consider the impact of the building upon wildlife and and the countryside. The Planning Department take advice from various bodies, such as nature conservation trusts and can refuse planning permission if the plans are a threat to the wildlife or countryside.

A. I would love to do that, but I think you would need a very reliable car and a neighbour not too far away. The peace and quiet would outway any worries for me.

Which part of Switzerland has the most "picturesque" view of the mountainous countryside?
Q. I'm planning a trip to Switzerland and I was wondering what towns/cities have the most beautiful, mountainous views. I want to be blown away by my natural surroundings. Thanks!

A. Vevey on Lac Leman is quite pretty; it's also where Charlie Chaplin retired and died. the lake is surrounded by Alps, almost as if the peaks are just rising out of the water. on a clear day, the combination of water and mountains seem to stretch on forever. Vevey, however, is on flat land. if you want to get close to the mountains, it's better to be within them. Wengen and Murren in the Jungfrau region are both situated deep within those Alps, small, quaint, and you have breathtaking views of the Lauterbrunnen Valley below, with eternally snow-capped peaks above. it's also very easy to get away from other people in these small mountain towns, and hike in solitude to best enjoy the views. you'll also get a lot of great views on… [cont.]
