Predicting when e-textbooks will become a viable alternative to the dead-tree variety churned from printing presses to millions of college students a year is a bit like asking whether newspapers will give way to the Internet.

A. The 'mask' is metaphorical and literal. The narrator is hiding beind a mask. 'Devils Smity'- heat, passion, destruction. 'laugh at me'- jealousy. Lots of alliteration - 'grind, mash'. The violent language reflects the narrators state of mind. She will give all her money for the poison, greed and corruption. 'You may kiss me' - she has lost her morals, she descends into madness. 'brush this dust off' - guilt, the literal dust and also the possibility of being caught.

Could English/Greek be written like the Zolotas speeches and understood well?
Q. Someone also keeps on saying about European versus Greek. We are both.

A. Zolotas speaches and one speach that Simitis or Stefanopoulos gave in California long time ago, are "designed" for special purposes and special audience. To understand it you need to know very well English, Modern and Ancient Greek and have a lot of imagination.

R&P..any fans of Edgar Allen Poe here?
Q. I was just sitting back and reading form his collected works.. and finding myslf amazes all over again. Here was a man who TRULY knew how to write horror. No need for blood and guts, he was able to scare you because he had such an uncanny fell for the human condition, for grief, for pain and for bleakness. Add to that his wonderful use of the English language, and you have someone who is not meerly the greatest horror writer ever, but I should think is safely in the top 10 writers of all time. What is your favorite Poe story? Here is Mine: Few people seem to get it, but I vivdly see the picture he paints. MQ- Songs based off of Poe Poems? BQ - Your favorite Author?

A. I have to introduce you to Sinead! She's an aspiring writer, and she loves gothic literature, especially Poe :) I'm not a big fan of Poe, and the only one I've read is "The Raven", but when I was about 9 or 10 I watched a lot of the Vincent Price films, such as :~ The Pit and the Pendulum Fall of the House of Usher The Raven Masque of the Red Death I also saw a Schools Programme adaptation of "The Tell-Tale Heart". And at some point, a film version of "The Murders in the Rue Morgue". MQ : I have got, but not yet listened to, a certain album... Alan Parson's Project ~ "Tales of Mystery and Imagination" BQ : Selection of my favourite fiction authors, in random order :~ Arthur Conan Doyle Jasper Fforde Jerome K. Jerome M.C. Beaton… [cont.]
