A. 1) If you haven't already done so, download i Tunes from Apple's website, for your operating system. 2) Create an account with username and password. 3) Authorize both your computer and your i Pod Touch as "authorized computers for your i Tunes account.Go to the menu "Store"-"Authorize Computer" at the top of the i Tunes window. 4) Once you've done this, you should be able to select "i Tunes Store" from the items on the left side and enter your password to start downloading applications. 5) Once you have the stuff in i Tunes that you want on your i Pod, they will be copied over when you do a Sync. *Note - Your i Tunes will retrieve and prompt you to install updates for your i PT, and your i Pod will… [cont.]

How to empty an ipod while keeping my purchased songs on i tune?

A. Yes, it is possible. Connect your i Pod Touch to i Tunes. Click on the '***'s i Pod' tab. There should be a 'Restore' button on that page. Click on this button. Doing so will erase all your data from that i Pod Touch.

What ipod is better for watching videos, the 3rd gen or the new 4th 8gb generation?
Q. I want to get an ipod, which ipod has a better viewing quality for movies 3rd gen or 4th?
Asked by Dibs34 - Fri Dec 26 18:28:36 2008 - Music & Music Players - 2 Answers - Comments
A. If you are deciding solely on video resolution, they are the same size and resolution. So it's a tie. But the 4th generation has more features along with a higher price.

How do you sinc one ipod to another ipod while still using your same itunes account?
Q. At the moment, I have an ipod nano. I am hoping to get an ipod touch for christmas. My current ipod has lots of songs that I would rather not pay for again. How do I get my songs onto the ipod touch without paying for them again?

A. Register the new i Pod to the same account then sync it to the same library just like the old one. Learn more about managing and backing up content by downloading and reading your user guide. If you had backup copies, you wouldn't have to worry about having to pay for them again.

A. The best FM Modulator I've ever heard (and now I have it) is a model from Monstor Cable. Mine charges as well, and has 3 presets for quick changes in different locations. But as said above, FM Modulation is not the best.

A. Actually, there is no way to copy music from your i Pod to your computer officially. There are programs out there that will let you do this, but it is not from Apple. On my i Pod Touch 2G and i Phone 4, I have installed an app through Cydia called "my Tunes." Basically, my Tunes will put your music in the directory "var/mobile/media/my Tunes." Then, using SSH, you can copy these music files back to your PC. The only downside to this is that you have to jailbreak (not really a bad thing, but it takes time to do sometimes) and that you have to deal with sending stuff wirelessly to your PC (the speed of this depends on the connection, but it'll take some). A better way is to actually downgrade a program that will allow you… [cont.]

How do you transfer i Pod songs to your library that thinks it already exists on i Tunes?
Q. My i Tunes library is all wrong. It won't display my i Pod songs on my laptop. So, in order to listen to my i Pod songs, I have to plug my i Pod in, and listen to my i Pod's library. But once I disconnect the USB cord, the library goes back to the stupid original songs that I don't want. It's very confusing, and it's frustrating me. I try to drag the i Pod songs into the existing i Tunes library [You know, like when you're creating a playlist] and it won't let me. On my mom's computer though, i Tunes cooperates and uploads and updates songs normally. But she had to wipe her hard drive clean because of a virus, so the songs don't exist anymore. please help me. This is very frustrating. I hope you understand it well enough to help me. Thanks. [cont.]

Q. I am planning to get the ipod nano 8g and i had the ipod mini 4g before. I had the mini for 2yrs and someone i know thinks that that is a very short time for someone to have an ipod or mp3 player. I think that 2 yrs is pretty long for an ipod. How long is an ipod mini supposed to last when used daily and frequently? is having the ipod for 2 yrs a long time?

A. It depends on the usage habits. I have a first gen mini that still works perfect and the battery lasts as long as I need. The most common problem with these is that the battery fails. You can get replacements online for $12. My wife's 3rd generation i Pod 40GB battery failed last year and she wanted a nano for size and battery performance reasons. I just bought her one for our anniversary. The color screen is well worth it and the battery does last longer. It will last a long time, but if you want the color display or album art it might be worth the upgrade. You can sell your old one on ebay or something.

Q. I tried to restore my ipod the other day, but there was an error, and it is now stuck in recovery mode. I have an ipod touch 4g and i am running the latest version of itunes, and i have tried to restore it on two different computers. Whenever i try to restore it, it comes up with the error " The ipod could not be restored. An unknown error occured (20008)" Please help. Also, resetting the ipod with the home/lock keys doesnt resolve it.

What is the best i Pod adapter for a car with a cigarette lighter?
Q. I am looking for a semi-cheap adapter for my i Pod. I got a new car and I don't have a cassette player anymore I only have a cigarette lighter. I have an i Pod touch if that makes any difference. Doesn't matter if it charges the i Pod or not I just need something so I can play it. Thanks!

iPod is a portable media player designed and marketed by Apple and launched on October 23, 2001. The product line-up currently consists of the hard drive-based iPod Classic, the touchscreen iPod Touch, the iPod Nano, and the compact iPod Shuffle. iPod Classic models store media on an internal hard drive, while all other models use flash memory to enable their smaller size (the discontinued Mini used a Microdrive miniature hard drive). As with many other digital music players, iPods can also serve as external data storage devices. Storage capacity varies by model, ranging from 2 GB for the iPod Shuffle to 160 GB for the iPod Classic. All of the models have been redesigned multiple times since their introduction. The most recent iPod redesigns were introduced on September 1, 2010.
