What are military members suppose to do when they need to sell their house in today's market?
Q. What are military member suppose to do when they need to sell their house in today's market? Renting is not an option, it is too risky. Why wouldn't the government consider this and provide ways to help their military members?

A. I am in the military also, I sold my house back in December of 06 after being on the market for about 45 days. I spruced up the front yard, replaced the carpeting througout the house and repainted the exterior and interior. I spent about $6K. I got a $14,000 check on closing day, payed back the six and pocketed the rest. Now I'm buying another home. What's the big deal?

A. In 1965, when their debut was released (which I suppose is when they "became famous") they were: Roger Mc Guinn - 23 Gene Clark - 21 David Crosby - 24 Chris Hillman - 21 Michael Clarke - 19

How many members of the Museum of Science and Industry Chicago have been locked out of the Star Wars exhibit?
Q. MSI Chicago has had several exhibits this year where members have been unable to attend despite having vouchers for admittance. Star Wars is the latest exhibit, many members were denied entry were you one? It would be beneficial to us all as members to know how common this practice may be since a benefit of membership is exhibit tickets. If MSI Chicago is in the habit of issuing vouchers to members and not allowing a significant number of members to use the vouchers we should all know. As a member you should always have entrance to an exhibit, my family hold several memberships and this is the place that we have ever been denied access to a feature. The issue should not be when you attend if you are a member, membership should make that… [cont.]

A. Well, they're locking people out of star wars now because the exhibit is sold out for the final week. We went with our member vouchers early in the exhibit run to avoid the ending rush. So, no I didn't get locked out. Even if they held spots open for members at the end though, they couldn't guarantee entry to everyone if lots of people waited for the final week to come. All they can say is what they did: expect big crowds, and come early.

How can I keep other group members from adding or deleting appointments from the calendar?
Q. Group members have the ability to add meetings etc. to the group calendar. It took me a long time to type everything into it and I don't want to see items suddenly deleted by accident or inappropriate stuff added. I don't mind if members want to add something to the calendar but I want it to be approved by the moderator first. I looked through the calendar management page and couldn't find my answer. Thank you for your help.

Why do members receive some messages and not others?
Q. I am a group moderator. Some members report that they do not get all the messages posted. For example, a member posts a message some will receive others not. The same member will re-post the same message. This time different members will get it and others not. Some members will get both messages, some the first and not the second, others the second but not the first. It doesn't make sense. Anybody got any ideas. If I can't be sure people are getting the messages then we need to move to something other than Yahoo.

What members of Congress are up for re-election this election day?
Q. It's time to clean house! I am so angry that Congressional members have chosen the interests of Wall Street over the wishes of their Consituents. Where can I find which members of Congress are up for re-election this November? Time for me to begin my research now. Wish we can kick them ALL out of office, but this is a start.

A good test is to compare their voting record to the Constitution, which they've ALL sworn to protect and defend against ALL enemies, foreign or domestic. A. Minimum of 3-5 depends on the articles and needs of the organization, for each board is designated to hold responsibility in term of services to the organization.

Why has the Mafia historically prohibited its members from being involved in the drug trade?
Q. In many movies and books about the Mafia, we are told that members are not allowed to be part of the drug business, although countless numbers have gone against this directive. Why has the Mafia always prohibited its members, "made men" or whatever, from buying and selling drugs? They have been involved in all sorts of other terrible crimes. So what would be different about drugs to them? And do they still today have a rule about their members not being allowed to be part of the drug business?

A. Back in the 1920's and 1930's their was almost no drug trade to speak of. The drug users were thought of as being the very bottom of society. The way people even found out about drug use was from a friend, and no one wanted to be friends with a drug user, so it was self controlling. The Old Don's felt that to sell drugs was to lower themselves to the scum of society and would invite the people to become angered and demand the Mobs be controlled. Alcohol, Gambling and Prostitutes, on the other hand was used by almost everyone and that is where the money was to be made at that time. A few Renegades broke the Old Don's edicts and sold drugs anyway. They proved that money could be made from drugs and if secrecy was used, the public didn't… [cont.]

Can members of a Facebook group send a mass private message to everyone in the group?
Q. I'm admin of a group and one of the members wants to send a mass message to everyone. I know that I have this privilege, but do the other members?
Asked by - Sat Oct 16 07:26:50 2010 - Facebook - 2 Answers - Comments
A. No. Depending on the group's privacy settings they may be able to post and only have members see it, but there is no way for them to message everyone, nor even you unless they've "friended" you (though they can reply to your messages even if you aren't friends, this only goes to you). Interestingly, if you create a community page or an official page on Facebook anyone who has liked it can send messages to it, but those messages will only go to their common friends. So if a page has 4000 likes but 25 of them are my friends I can send it to all of my friends who have liked the page, sort of a proxy for a "List" (lists are the way you control which friends get which messages).

How many members are needed in an online website before it is necessary to buy servers?
Q. I am thinking about starting an online membership website, and before I do I need to figure out the expense side of the business model. At what "landmarks" should I buy servers? For example, at 1000 members? Is there a member to server ratio, like 1 server per 1000 members? Or are there different types of servers. Also, how much do servers cost? Thanks so much.

A. It's all very much "it depends". It should be noted that the issue is not how many users you have but how many concurrent users you have, i.e. your site needs to be able to cope with a burst of simultaneous connections, e.g. from a Twitter retweet or a Digg mention. How well you code the site in terms of database interaction and output caching is also a critical factor: a well architected site can cope with far more concurrent users than a poorly thought out one. If you're fairly confident you can make it to 1000 members then a middle ground might be to rent a VPS (Virtual Private Server) - these provide a lot of the flexibility and power of dedicated servers but at a fraction of the cost. You can upgrade when necessary. I pay… [cont.]
