What are good baby boy names that do not start with M and Z?
Q. This is for future refencence. I do not want to use M and Z names because I already have to children with M and Z names and I would like for my children to have names that start with different letters. My daughters names Zoey and Melody I would like for your choices to sound good with these names. Right now the only baby boy names I like are Henry James and Jacob Anthony.

How many names can you come up with that start with the letter Z?
Q. They have to be legit names that aren't too out there and they can't be different spelling of the same name. I'll pick the one with the most answers. For example: Zachary is fine but I wont count Zackary too. I also wont cound Zaxany because it is just too out there. Boys and girls names are fine.

What boy or unisex names do you think will become girl names only? And what's left for the boys?
Q. Okay, I know that names like Ashley, Leslie and Lindsay all used to be strictly boy names back in the day. What names do you think will eventually become almost permanent girls names as the ones I have listed here. What unisex names do you think are appropriate to do so, or will do so? Even if you're not a fan of unisex names, which names do you think will complete the takeover? And what names do you think will be left for the boys?? Thanks!
Asked by ssassY #2 due ovembe r ! - Tue Sep 23 21:18:20 2008 - Baby Names - 15 Answers - Comments

A. Names that will become permanently girls: Avery Alexis Taylor Madison Back to the boys: Riley Cameron Drew I read an interesting article, not one of the links below, that addressed how people think of males unisex names as more "girly" and weaker than the James/John/Matthews of the world. Similarly, girls given unisex names are seen as stronger than their Sarah/Katie/Mary counterparts. This helps explain why names that are unisex begin to trend more to the female side - people want their boys to be manly... and their girls to be strong but feminine. Angel is now much more popular for males than females - so that's encouraging :).

Are there names for the different shapes of headstocks for guitars?
Q. I know there are names for the different body shapes but are there different names for different headstocks? I notice some headstocks are pretty unique to different brands such as the Dean's Chalice like shape, Schecter's spear point like shape, or the Ibanez's in line like shape. If so can I get the real names?

Why are certain names specific to the male gender and certain names to the female gender and some unisexual?
Q. We find certain names that universally only male names (Joshua, Moses, George) and certain names which are universally female names (Jessica, Debra, Hillary), and certain names which can be used for both males and females (Drew, Henry/Henri, Billy/Billie). When and why did these distinctions between names develop and how did the unisexual names develop.

A. You know how native-American names always consist of words (when translated), such as "Biting Snake"? Basically, that's how *all* names work. My own, for instance, I believe was Hebrew for "One that rules". Because of older religious beliefs, or simply customs, certain names just didn't describe women. As time passed, rather than associate names by their meanings, we just assumed the names that women were using were "feminine", and that names men used were "masculine", and just stuck with it. Now, as far as unisex names go, I'm not 100% sure. I imagine, though, that these names were adopted after women started playing a more important role politically. Such as Alex; Alexander for a male, Alexandria… [cont.]

How do last names work when your adopted?
Q. My boyfriend has two last names, he only uses one. But legally he has two I will use Smith and Jones, though those are not his real last names. And Jeff for his first. So it would be Jeff Smith/Jones. So my question is when we get married will my name be Jenna Smith/Jones? Or can I just take the name he uses the most witch is Smith?

A. Legally, when u get married, technically, on all your paper work and stuff, u still have ur maiden name. So, the name u marry into is sorta unofficial.

What is it with celebrities naming their children such odd names?
Q. First it was Michael Jackson naming his children Apple and Blanket, now it's Ashlee Simpson naming her son Bronx. Do celebrities think they're that much higher than the working- class people that they have to go ten notches higher with the baby names. Do they consider their children when choosing their names, and how when they grow up how their classmates and peers will taunt them? Seriously? Am I the only one that thinks this? What's your stance on it?
Asked by effdisplaynames - Tue May 26 01:46:49 2009 - Celebrities - 2 Answers - 2 Comments

A. I would say it was because they wanted their child to stand out. Most celeb children will never be able to have a normal job like a teacher or something along those lines as they are in the media spotlight, therefore they can only really be something/someone famous. A weird name would help that quite alot I would think. Although some names are pushing it a bit i.e. Apple
