A. Stephanie Meyer Scott westerfeld Dan Brown. they all have a way of writing in which you know exactly the story they want to tell..and how the moments feell..the anxiety the sadness the joy in every scence that is meant to be. There words are able to be understood by almost everyone. They are personal and informal, but still sound refined. They dont write too emotionally.. just write it as life is..and it really makes a reader connect with them and the story.

A. I'm pretty sure that you need to pick the author yourself- we can't very well explain your connection to someone if we don't know you.

A. Rapport has to do with how ideas are communicated. You can have two different authors write books having the same plot, but the way they communicate their ideas can be very different, and those ways are not necessarily right or wrong, but will appeal to a different set of readers. For example, maybe you like a certain author because he or she writes in a way that's more understandable to your age group. That is, if you are a younger person (teens or young adult), the author that you like might write in a way that uses more modern or simple phrasing, while an author that you don't like uses complex or old fashioned phrasing (like William Shakespeare, for example). Or maybe the author that you like creates characters that you identify more… [cont.]

A. Little rapport would be advice columnist Ann Landers. On occasion after reading one of her columns, I felt that the advice to the asker could've been better. Better rapport would be Stephenie Meyer. There used to be many questions on Answers about her book "Twilight" so I read it and felt empathy at how Meyer crafted the vulnerabilities of the protagonist and put her in so many perilous situations.

A. I would have to say Charles Dickens. He gives the characters so much feel. You can just picture the bad guys and almost smell them. The description he gives for setting is great. If its a dirty foggy night, you feel as if you are there. His young boy characters are portrayed as so sweet an innocent. You really feel for them. Think of a character like Mrs Havisham, I can picture her now with her torn old wedding dress and old dark house, poor little Pip. Characters that stick with you long after you have read the book is a sign of a great writer. Writers that aren't so good at this... Nicholas Sparks. I do like his thoughtful stories, but they are very quick reads with very little content. Just something to take your mind away for a short… [cont.]

A. The author that I have felt a rapport: Gabriel Garcia Marquez (author of One Years of Solitude) No rapport: Nobody, I treat all the authors I came across to like my best buddy. Suggestion: We must be acquainted with the author's background... his life, wants, attitude, and so on and so forth... Have an ample time with the book. Like me, I always have a date with my book before I go to sleep. Have a deep, true, constant conversation with his work. Understand the author... You must read his work between the lines,,, (literally). Let the book be an important part of your life.
