Long Island or New Jersey?
Q. My family lives in Nassua County, Long Island and I was wondering if it was more expensive if we moved to a nice town in New Jersey? (Ridgewood, Westwood, Glen Rock etc...?)
Asked by heartachexxhead - Wed Jul 16 07:21:48 2008 - Other - United States - 1 Answers - Comments

A. Northern New Jersey will definitely be cheaper, though it might depend on how far you have to commute to work. My sister lives in Nassau County; my parents live in Northern New Jersey; we always compare prices of food, homes, gas etc. New Jersey wins every time.

Does anyone know a good pond contractor to fix my pond in Ridgewood New Jersey NJ?
Q. I had a pond built by a Aquascape Designs CAC who did not know what they were doing. You would think that someone who is certified by a company like Aquascape Designs they would know a thing or two about ponds. Not in this case, It leaks water, pump didnt last a year, rocks are falling in, waterfall is falling apart! The contractor who installed it wont return my calls or fix the pump that should be under warranty. Does anyone know someone who is reliable and knows about ponds to come fix my problem? Thanks for any help you can send me!

A. Gary, I ran into the same problem with an Aquascape CAC!!! They really didn't know anything about ponds. I did find someone that blew my mind with what they knew about ponds. They are located in the next town over from you in Paramus, NJ. The company name is Nature's Touch Ponds and the phone number is 201-634-0191. The web link is www.ntponds.com When i called they answered the phone right away. Were on time for our appointment. Educated us about ponds and how they should be built. We decided it was best to take the pond apart and start over as the setup of the pond was horrible. After Nature's Touch Ponds fixed the pond it turned out much better then I had expected!!! The water is crystal clear all of the time, the fish are very happy… [cont.]

"Church of God" Solicitors in New Jersey?
Q. Has anyone ever been solicited by a pair of annoying girls in their 20's about the "Church of God" in Ridgewood, New Jersey? They all have this obscure Russian-like accent and remind me of Mail Order Brides. Their enthusiasm is almost cult like. They always seem to target me in the weirdest public places! Ugh.

I was born in 1980 and both my parents died after 6 months of my birth. How do I find out info on my real Dad?
Q. I was born in Ridgewood, NJ and my parents died because of health and a bad situation. Now, I have a real picture of my Mom, but that's it. One pic. I have no idea what my real Father looks like and I must admit I am curious to know. Not only that, but I could have a whole new family out there and never even knew about them. My Step Mom doesn't want me snooping around for some odd reason. She will never go into detail about my Dad or my Mom. Yes, my real Mom and Step Family knew one another. My Step Mom worked for DYFS. That's how my real brother and I were adopted by them. Long story. I just want to know what's the best way to go about looking him up. His name is Thomas Payne. I am Thomas Payne Jr. Help from New Jersey!!!

A. I have heard that the Salvation Army has helped many people to find family members. You might have to wait until your 18 though. There are also websites where your family puts your name in in case you are looking for them. If I find the site I will bring it here and edit my answer. Good Luck, it must be very hard on you!! How much would I have to earn each year to live comfortably in a walkable Bergen County, New Jersey town?
Q. Please keep it real when you answer this question. Don't give me something unhelpful like "Why would you want to move to New Jersey?". Walkable Bergen County towns include Ridgewood, Ho-Ho-Kus, etc. These are also towns New Yorkers often go to when it's too expensive for them to live in Manhattan. Also, somebody told me $70,000-80,000 a year is way out of my price range under these circumstances. Is that true? That's how much I'll likely get paid at my job at American Express.

Public transportation from Bergen County, New Jersey to JFK?
Q. I would prefer not to take a taxi. What are my other options? Thank you! Most ideally, I'd like to get from Ridgewood, NJ to JFK.
Asked by ItchySpirit - Mon Dec 27 11:17:19 2010 - New York City - 1 Answers - Comments

A. If you don't have a great deal of luggage, you can easily get there on the train. From Ridgewood, buy a ticket to Penn Station NY. Take any inbound train, change at Secaucus Jct to get to Penn Station NY. At Penn Station, go to the LIRR concourse, buy a ticket to Jamaica, take any train that goes to Jamaica. At Jamaica, follow signs to the Airtrain, buy a Metrocard, and take the airtrain to your terminal. This is actually less complicated than it sounds. Another alternative is to take an NJ Transit bus to the port authority bus station in NY, and the NY Airport Service bus to JFK. That's probably easier if you have luggage, since there's only one change.

Northern New Jersey Photo Ops?
Q. I live in Northern New Jersey, Bergen County near the New York State border. If I were to escort a guest from out of state who was into photography, where do you think I should take them before we hit NYC and the shore? I have thought 1) Bergenline Union City for the innercity experience 2) the Palisades for the Hudson river and rock formations 3) Weehawken for the city view 4) Ridgewood for the suburban main street 5) Von Steuban house for Dutch settlers 6) Morristown for the Washington headquarters...where else would you recommend?

this is sad/about rev run?
Q. this is from wikipedia.com. no this is not a joke Victoria Anne On September 26, 2006, the couple's newborn child, Victoria Anne Simmons, was pronounced dead shortly after her birth. Joseph Simmons was present at a Ridgewood, New Jersey hospital on September 26 for the child's anticipated delivery. The pregnancy was initially made public via MTV. A Caesarean section was performed on Justine Simmons to deliver the child, but the baby girl was reportedly born with organs on the outside of her body, which may be a case of omphalocele or gastroschisis.[2] The baby died shortly after being delivered.
