From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. A river is a natural watercourse, usually freshwater, flowing toward an ocean, a lake, a sea or another river. In a few cases, a river simply flows into the ground or dries up completely before reaching another body of water. Small rivers may also be called by several other names, including stream, creek, brook, rivulet, and rill; there is no general rule that defines what can be called a river. Many names for small rivers are specific to geographic location; one example is Burn in Scotland and North-east England. Sometimes a river is said to be larger than a creek, but this is not always the case, because of vagueness in the language. A river is part of the hydrological cycle. Water within a river is generally collected from precipitation through surface runoff, groundwater recharge, springs, and the release of stored water in natural ice and snowpacks (i.e., from glaciers). GNU Free Documentation License What is the best river for white water rafting? Q. I am going on a road trip with my twin sister, two cousins and my uncle. Doesn't matter about the age. What river is the best? I want intense waters and extreme sports. Any ideas? Also if you know any place that can teach me how to cave dive that would be awesome. Westwater Canyon is one of the wildest parts. We also went on the Kicking Horse River up in British Columbia and it was a great trip. The Arkansas River in Colorado is a decent trip. There are some decent rapids on Snake River out of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. It's a short run tho but you can run it several times in a day. It depends on what challenge you are looking for and how convenient it is for you to get to. Check out this Georgia Whitewater website which lists the rivers and different classes. I assume you want to stick to class I and II until you get more experienced. Be safe have fun! Q. I have a hockey stick signed by every team member of the river kings during 1977. It is taking space and i am being forced by my wife to sell it. I know it is worth something, so does anyone know how much they sell for? I am so sorry but it is the Memphis, TN Riverkings. Asked by Kris Crotwell - Sun Sep 13 01:55:01 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. If it were the Mississippi Riverkings then you might be able to find out if someone went on to the NHL or AHL, etc. and you could sell it for a few hundred bucks. But, I'm sorry to say it, the Memphis riverkings team isn't as known so you could only likely sell it for 50-75 bucks top price.
