Lévis is a city in eastern Quebec, Canada. It is located on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, opposite Quebec City. A ferry links Old Quebec with Old Lévis, and two bridges, the Quebec Bridge and the Pierre Laporte Bridge, connect western Lévis with Quebec City. The Société de transport de Lévis is responsible for public transportation by bus. The population in 2006 was 130,006. Its current incarnation was founded on January 1, 2002, as the result of a merger among ten cities, including the older city of Lévis founded in 1861. Lévis is also the name of a territory equivalent to a regional county municipality (TE) and census division (CD) of Quebec, coextensive with the city of Lévis. Q. I was in oil sands rich Canada over the weekend and now that their dollar is almost equal to ours and since most of them speak English why doesn't the US annex Canada and make it the 51st State? From what I could see their infrastructure looked to be very good and most people seemed well educated so I think this would be a huge plus making the US a much stronger country and it would be fun to travel to Quebec to speak French - I saw plenty of Coca Cola and Levis and Gap stores too so I don't think many Canadians would mind or notice. Things would pretty much stay the same for them but we could finally get the oil out of the Northern Provinces.
