Winnie is a census-designated place (CDP) in Chambers County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,914 at the 2000 census. GeographyWinnie is located at 29°49′8″N 94°23′0″W / 29.81889°N 94.383333°W (29.818891, -94.383462). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 4.0 square miles (10.3 km²), all of it land. Historical developmentThe town plat was filed in 1895 by the Gulf and Inter-state Railway officials. The town was named after Fox Winnie, a railroad contractor who worked for the line. The Winnie and Loan Improvement Company attempted to market small lots of land, but due to poor sales, the company was dissolved in 1911. In 1941 an oilfield was discovered nearby, leading the way for the oil businessman Glenn H. McCarthy to establish a gas plant just east of the town. This development, along with the construction of Interstate 10, would lead to a population growth. The East Chambers County Consolidated School District was established in 1931. Q. well ive had my mare since i was 10 her name is star (6years ago)ive always ran her barrels poles everything she loves running well i ran her till about 7 months prego she had the baby in Auguast hes about 3 months now i have been running her and stuff i do 4 speed events barrels pole arena race and the texas barrels with her but i leave the baby home recently i left him there for 2 hours with water grain and hay but my quastion is how long can u leave the baby alone because our show will be 4 hours please only people who have experience and know for sure thanks melissa also she does great at the shows she doesnt worry or winnie for the baby or anything until she gets back home Asked by masters_carpet_cleaning - Sat Nov 3 14:38:24 2007 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. I'm not even looking at the other answers before I answer this. yes, I have had to show mares that have babies at home...your baby is quite old enough to withstand the stress to be without his mother...mainly because you have preppared this colt to sustain himself/herself both emotionally and physically while you are competing with his/.her mother...there is noting to worry about, what you are doing is fine, simply because you have your colt prepared.
