A. Good Evening x Xx, I am proud I at least tried your (smile) name. First of all, the others are correct. But they did forget my childhood fishing hole. It is by far the closest fishing spot to you. It is still there and you CAN catch some nice size fish. If your brother just wants to get his line wet, he can go straight north on Van Nuys Blvd all the way to Foothill Blvd. Van Nuys Blvd ends at Foothill Blvd. Make a right on Foothill Blvd. In less than three miles, Hansen Dam will be to your right at Osborne Street. It is not big. This dam is the closest fishing spot to you. It is not a big lake but close by and nice, if you do not want to travel far. I grew up in this area in the mid 50's. A. The Pacific Surfliner goes from Union Station in Downtown to the Van Nuys station (7720 van nuys blvd, Van Nuys CA). From there, its about 6 miles to the address you gave by cab. Another way would be take the Red Line Metro Train to North Hollywood station, and then catch the Orange Line (which is a bus but an express bus) from there to Van Nuys (stops at 6062 Van Nuys Blvd., Van Nuys, CA). It stops about 2 miles from the address you gave. Good luck!

What is the crime rate like in Sherman Oaks and nearby areas?
Q. Was wanting to know how safe it is in Sherman Oaks. I have lived in Sherman Oaks since 1994, the crime rate is really low, other than 2 bank robberies and one shooting, there hasnt been much crime out here (since 1994), the biggest crime thats constant is vehicle break-ins, there are ton's of shops and small boutiques, 2 mall's, great restaurants, a pretty large park (VNSO park), and lots of childrens boutiques on Ventura Blvd. walking down Ventura is safe at all hours of the day and night, the closest studio in actually in Studio City which is the next town over its the CBS studio's its right off Ventura Blvd

A. It's a district (i.e. neighborhood) in the City of Los Angeles. They don't have a separate government structure. Their mayor is Tony Villaraigosa, just like the rest of Los Angeles. Their police and fire departments are LAPD and LAFD. They are definitely NOT a separate city.

A. It's a district (i.e. neighborhood) in the City of Los Angeles. They don't have a separate government structure. Their mayor is Tony Villaraigosa, just like the rest of Los Angeles. Their police and fire departments are LAPD and LAFD. They are definitely NOT a separate city.
