A temple (from the Latin word templum) is a structure reserved for religious or spiritual activities, such as prayer and sacrifice, or analogous rites. A templum constituted a sacred precinct as defined by a priest, or augur. It has the same root as the word "template," a plan in preparation of the building that was marked out on the ground by the augur. Templa also became associated with the dwelling places of a god or gods. The word "temple" dates to about the 6th century BCE. Despite the specific set of meanings associated with the religion of the ancient Rome, the word has now become quite widely used to describe a house of worship for any number of religions and is even used for time periods prior to the Romans. For the ancient Egyptians, the word pr could refer not only to a house, but also to a sacred structure since it was believed that the gods resided in houses. From Wikipedia under the

From Google Video Search: "temple" Are there any prescription eyeglasses frames that have a very soft temple sleeve or earpiece? Q. I am looking to buy some new prescription eyeglasses frames that have a soft and squishy temple sleeve or ear piece part. Most glasses have hard plastic or hard metal temple tips (end piece resting on the ear). Just wondering if there are any frames out there that have a soft temple end, maybe made of foam, squishy gel, etc. Would love to find some frames that are soft on my ears! P.S. I am not interested in drill mount rimless frames. Thanks. How do you use a temple is what I'm trying to ask and what rules are you to follow to be a buddhist. I have no time to visit a temple so your answers would be greatly appreciated. In the tradition that I follow one removes his or her shoes before entering the temple as a sign of respect. Temples are used for either private prayers and meditation or for formal teachings (like Christians attending Sunday services). In a formal teaching one will engage in practices such as prostrating to the teacher, chanting prayers in Tibetan, making offerings, etc. There's never any pressure to take part in such practices. Some practices (such as chanting in Tibetan) are done out of respect for our teachers, most of whom speak Tibetan. Other such practices are common to many schools of Buddhism. But, you should not feel that you need to engage in them unless doing so feels positive and natural to you! Once upon a time in 1876, there was a locksmith named Andreas Brandstatter. Mr. Brandstatter planted a magical seed that would eventually blossom into Playmobil by founding an eponymous lock and metal fitting company in Furth, Germany. By the 1930s, Playmobil's pretend play had again been redefined; manufacturing telephones, cash registers, and various items for toy shops using sheet metal. At the beginning of the 1950s, Horst Brandstatter, the Playmobil's current owner, came on board and started a new era in the company history. He updated Playmobil pretend play products, searched out new markets and focused production on his favorite material, plastic. In 1958, the hula hoop craze gripped the world, and Horst Brandstatter was determined to perfect the pretend play toy that would inspire further exploration. Realizing that the technique, using air pressure, hot plastic hoses, and shape molds, could also produce basically any shape (in addition to the traditional bottles and hoops), Mr. Brandstatter created the first prototype Playmobil pretend play item, a closed racing car manufactured in a single production step. From that point on, the company expanded rapidly with products in toys. Playmobil was introduced at the 1974 International Toy Fair in Nuremberg and by using an innovative marketing strategy, parents and children responded uniformly with fascination and enthusiasm, to Playmobil.
