It was the 45th state admitted to the Union on January 4, 1896. Approximately 80 percent of Utah's 2,736,424 people live along the Wasatch Front, centering around Salt Lake City. In contrast, vast expanses of the state are nearly uninhabited, making the population the sixth most urbanized in the U.S. The name "Utah" is derived from the Ute Indian language, meaning "people of the mountains." Utah is known for being one of the most religiously homogeneous states in the Union. Between 58 percent and 72 percent of Utahns are reported to be members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (also known as the LDS Church or Mormon Church), which greatly influences Utah culture and daily life. The state is a center of transportation, information technology and research, government services and mining as well as a major tourist destination for outdoor recreation. According to the U.S. Census Bureau's population estimates, Utah was the fastest growing state in the United States as of 2008. St. George, Utah was the fastest growing metropolitan area in the United States from 2000–2005. HistoryThis section requires expansion. Main article: History of UtahFrom Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License Can I legally start a porn site from my home in utah? Q. I want to start a porn sight featuring myself and some boyfriends and girlfriends, but I live in utah. Would I be violating any state laws? Would I have to set up a business entity? How would I start this sort of thing? Asked by Tanya J - Thu Oct 19 22:33:10 2006 - - 4 Answers - 2 Comments A. State laws can not govern what you do within your own home. If you intend to aquire a business license, then you may have a problem. You can go to your local library and find a book of state codes and regulations. To my understanding, you do not need to set up a business entity. I operate several such sites (not in Utah) and while laws governing them will vary from state to state, as long as you pay income tax on what you make from the site. You should be OK. As for starting the site. Go to and get a domain name. Go to and get hosting. Make sure you buy more hosting than you think you will need, nothing worse than cutting it close and going over bandwidth. If you intend to build the site yourself, you will need a working knowledge of… [cont.] Answered by 011101 - Fri Oct 20 14:11:54 2006 How may an indigent person obtain a psychiatric evaluation in Utah? Q. This is a very serious question. I can't figure out why my parents won't let us live in Uganda or the Phillipines. Sure, maybe some people like to ski, but do you really think sagebrush and scragly bushes in hard dirt make for a pretty landscape? Please, tell me why you'd ever want to live in Utah! Perhaps then I can understand my parents better and come up with a more persuasive argument to go to Greece. Asked by Pianist d'Aurellius - Tue Dec 12 20:41:54 2006 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments A. They must be Mormons and thats where their Homeys live silly...I think the pioneers tried to beat feet out of there before they were toast. The Mormons comprise most of the population there. They chose Utah so nobody would bother them...because nobody in there right mind wants to live in that environment...The Mormons could practice their polygamy in Utah...I suggest you go to Greece as soon as possible Answered by Olive - Tue Dec 12 20:50:22 2006 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Utah" Utah is a U.S. state located in the western United States.
