How can i transfer my xbox account to my new xbox live account?
Q. I had a offline xbox account for a long time.Yesterday i bought a xbox live account.Isn't it possible to keep using my old account and upgrade it to live? Because right now i have the same gamer-tag but it shows like i didn't play any games yet.Cant i move my achievements, points and saves to my live account?
Asked by shoujukeidi - Tue Sep 27 15:18:40 2011 - Xbox - 6 Answers - Comments
A. You can't move a subscription from one account to another. The same goes for saves and achievements so you'll always have two separate profiles. If you want the offline one with the saves and progress to be an online account, you have to sign into it on your 360 and then sign up for Live.

How to load an xbox 360 arcade memory pack to a new special addition xbox kinect?
Q. I got that new xbox 360 with kinect and want to load all my games from my xbox arcade's memory pack. From what I can see there is nowhere to insert the pack. It's not a USB connection like some others so I'm at a loss of what to do.
Asked by tpidge - Wed Jan 12 01:20:07 2011 - Xbox - 1 Answers - Comments
A. You will need the xbox360 transfer cable - you can find this at your local gaming stores, best buy, online (ebay, newegg, bestbuy, gamestop, amazon etc.). It typically runs for ~7 online and ~20 in stores - it all depends on how long you want to wait to transfer the information.

How can I connect my xbox to xbox live through a ethernet port? Bridging connections?
Q. How can I connect to my wifi on my xbox, by using a ethernet cable to connect the xbox and my desktop tower. So I have a wire going from my xbox, to my desktop, then connecting to the wifi using my dongal? I've heard something about bridging the connections? Can anyone help me?

A. Hi Make sure you have one ethernet going from your modem to your pc, then have another ethernet cable from the pc to the XBOX. Go into your network connections via the control panel. There should now be two connections. Hold the CTRL key and click the two connections, they should both now be hilighted. Right click either connection to pull down the menu, and pick "Bridge connections". Tada, you have bridged your xbox to your computer. I hope it helps!

A. It's really difficult without seeing your laptop. As long as you haven't deleted any of your settings, try deleteing the Hotel configuration completely.

How do i move only my Xbox 360 content to the new Xbox 360 slim without moving my brothers content?
Q. Me and my brother both share the same Xbox 360. Eventually I will be getting the Xbox 360 slim, and I want to move my profile, map packs, and pretty much everything that is mine, to my new Xbox. But i don't know how to do this. Could somebody please tell me how?

A. Um... no. He only wants to transfer some stuff, guys. Use any old USB drive, preferably one that has at least 2 GB of storage. (Something that everyone with a computer should own, and they cost under $10.) With a recent 360 update, you can use these to store data. You'll have to go to Memory and manually move everything related to your profile over to the USB stick, and then plug it into your new Slim when you get it and transfer it to that HDD. If you have a LOT of data, this might require several trips. Keep in mind that if you bought DLC, it might be easier to just redownload it onto your new console. How do I connect my XBOX 360 to my monitor and speakers, and easily switch back to my pc?
Q. I know about the VGA cables that microsoft provides to make the xbox connect to a monitor, but they still have those big, clunky audio cables attached. How am I supposed to listen to the audio from the XBOX 360 with those? I need one of those tiny headphone-type connectors... Also, I would like to be able to switch between my computer and the xbox on the same monitor and speaker setup without changing the wires every time. Is this possible?
Asked by mez13526 - Sat Aug 8 01:29:32 2009 - Xbox - 2 Answers - Comments
A. If you buy the official microsoft Xbox 360 VGA cable, they come with the headphone-type connector adapter for the red/white audio RCA cables. If you get a VGA switch box, you can choose either your Xbox 360 or PC connections to work with your monitor (see link below).

How do you connect your xbox 360 to xbox live through a computer that connects wireless?
Q. I am trying to connect my xbox 360 to xbox live. The only way to do that without buying the 100 wireless adapter is to run it to the computer in my room. My computer connects to the internet wirelessly.

A. for your computer to connect wirelessly you must have a wireless ethernet router. does your router not have an extra ethernet port you can plug into? buying a cat 5 or 6 ethernet cable would work out a lot cheaper for you.

Can internet and xbox live ethernet cables be interchanged often without connectivity problems?
Q. I am planning on getting xbox live for my xbox 360, but I do not have a router and my DSL modem only has one ethernet input. Can I interchange the internet and xbox cables whenever I want to use either one without connectivity problems with either device?
Asked by brett l - Fri Nov 2 22:28:18 2007 - Xbox - 2 Answers - 1 Comments
A. It should be fine. You will have to set up your internet connection on the X-box anyways in order to get your x-box online. :-) Once that is set up is finished you should be able to unplug the cat5 cable coming from your modem and plug it either into your computer or your x-box. There also should also be no problem when switching it back and forth. Of course you will have to decide what you want more the computer to be online or your x-box. I would suggest just buying a router and another cat5 cable. There relatively cheap.

A. Xbox 360 pro Colour:White Hard Drive:60gb No HDMI lead included Xbox 360 Elite Colour:Black Hard Drive:120gb HDMI lead included Xbox 360's do have a tendance to break. I'm now on my third in two years. Microsoft have extended their warranty on it to three years if you get the three red lights (overheating). Other than that you have three months. They're worth getting but only if you are gonna use xbox live. That allows you to play various games online against other users around the world. My third xbox i have is an elite. It's still going strong and showing no sign of breaking after 10 months of use.

A. you'll need to get an audio/visual switch box which has one output (av)for the speakers and it needs two or more inputs (av)for the sources(Xbox/PC) you will need to use the av output on your xbox and PC to connect to the switch box( this will by pass the TV speakers connection, but you will need to turn the TV volume to Zero) I have this exact setup(same speakers) and it works fine, but you can't run both sound sources at the same time, but you can switch between them. I hope that helps

A. You need to go to the game that you are going to be using the controller with and assign the keys from there. It would most likely be in the settings or options menu of the game.

What is wrong with a Xbox 360 system if it does not allow you to play Xbox 360 games?
Q. My Xbox 360 system will not allow me to play any of my Xbox 360 video games. Every time I enter one of them, it reads 'Unplayable Disc'. This applies to them all and from inspecting it, I have not located any major scratches on them or anything really damaging.
Asked by Michael B - Mon Apr 14 13:29:44 2008 - Xbox - 3 Answers - 6 Comments
A. DVD drive failure, only covered by the 1 year warranty. You can try cleaning it out with a can of compressed air, it may help a little bit. Eventually you will need to call xbox support and schedule a repair. If you are no longer covered by the 1 year warranty this may cost $100-$140 to have fixed. BUT when you pay to have it fixed, the 1 year and 3 year warranties start over from the day it leaves the repair center.

A. well you could use a capture card, witch generally needs to be hooked up to a computer but you could hook it up to a portable hard-drive and then take it to your computer once you are done.
